LIFE AFTER OIL Int’l Filmfest picks ‘Khatemeh’

The LIFE AFTER OIL International Film Festival in Italy has picked ‘Khatemeh’ for its 2020 virtual screening.

Co-directed by Hadi and Mehdi Zarei, the documentary tells the story of an Afghan girl who escapes from home in order to avoid an early marriage and domestic violence.

Zareis’ work is the winner of Best Director for Full-length Documentary and Best Editing awards at the 12th edition of the Cinema Vérité, Iran’s International Documentary Film Festival.

‘Khatemeh’ also competed at the 9th American Documentary and Animation Film Festival (AmDocs) in the US as well as the 2019 Florence Film Awards in Italy.

LIFE AFTER OIL International Film Festival is an environmental and human rights film festival.

The event will be held in Italy on September 10-19, 2020. Deadline for sending films is April 1, 2020.
